Anton Giulio Grande: Sublime Ambassador of Elegant, Luxurious, and Sensual Fashion

2026-02-13

We are delighted to announce the participation of Anton Giulio Grande at Milan Fashion Days, taking place on February 27, 2026, at the magnificent Villa Borromeo.

Anton Giulio Grande began his artistic and professional career by founding his eponymous fashion house at the age of 20. Today, he is among the most acclaimed haute couture designers, dressing some of the world’s most beautiful and renowned women. In his interviews, however, he consistently emphasizes that a perfect body is not required to wear his creations. When designing, he believes that a woman does not need to be conventionally beautiful, but must possess a strong personality — one of those women who are instantly noticed when they enter a room and long remembered afterward.

The success of his collections is linked not only to the visibility of the star system, but above all to the exceptional quality of his garments. Each piece is made entirely by hand, drawing on the craftsmanship of his homeland, in traditional tailoring ateliers where sewing machines are not used.

Born in Lamezia Terme, he studied at Polimoda in Florence, where he received the “Best Student” award during the school’s 20th anniversary celebrations, and later at FIT in New York. At just 23 years old, he participated in the prestigious Piazza di Spagna fashion show, followed by major success at Milano Collezioni in 2001. He also collaborated with some of the most renowned maisons, including Sorelle Fontana, and launched his own brand in 1996. Inevitably, given his Calabrian roots, he has often been compared to the region’s most famous son, Gianni Versace.

One of the most distinguished figures in Italian haute couture, Anton Giulio Grande began his career over twenty-five years ago in Calabria, during a particularly vibrant and creative era. This rich cultural background has allowed him to expand his vision beyond fashion into cinema, always guided by a common thread: culture and the celebration of beauty through different art forms.

Fashion and cinema, in his view, are inseparable worlds — deeply connected and capable of generating dreams and desire, essential elements of creativity. Today, in his dual role as stylist and Extraordinary Commissioner of the Calabria Film Commission, he continues to honor the teachings of his mentor, the legendary director Franco Zeffirelli.
